SOAP ALEPPO / ALUM

The soap of Aleppo originally considered to have been developed in this city, in its traditional form, shaped "bread" parallelepiped, there are more than a millennium and a half before our era, and would thus more of three thousand five hundred years. Then, during the Crusades, its recipe, word of mouth spread by travelers of the Silk Road, had reached Europe via Italy and Spain. It would be the ancestor of all hard soaps in the world, and in particular the soap, much more recent, dating from the late seventeenth century.
